CLEVELAND,OH Camcode Division of Horizons Incorporated has developed an important advancement for marking items that require low visibility. The TACTICAL UID label is a low visibility tag that meets the requirements of the DoD UID policy and yet is difficult to detect.
Current rules require that all DoD equipment that is valued over $5000, or is serially managed or is mission critical be marked with a unique identifying number (IUID). This number is typically applied on a label attached to the item. This rule enables improved life cycle management and is an important component in supporting DoD asset management software platforms.
An IUID mark is required to contain a machine readable bar code known as a data matrix code. Codes that are printed in high contrast are considered most easy to read with a bar code scanner. This high contrast tag may also stand out against a weapon that is designed for low visibility.
Camcode has designed a low contrast tag that reads as well as any high contrast tag. This enables the marking of sensitive items in a way that does not compromise their intended zero reflection/detection design. The tactical tag is available to match desert tan or army green. Aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive is used to mount the tag.
Camcode is a leading supplier of custom made durable metal and plastic labels. Primary markets include UID labels and data plates, asset labels and utility asset tags.
